installr — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Installr Android application ("the App"), developed by Mistcast, operated by Ankit Ranjan. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
§01Acceptance of Terms
By using Installr, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, are not barred from using the App under applicable law, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
§02Eligibility
The App is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
§03Description of the Service
Installr is a utility tool for installing, inspecting, backing up, and managing Android application packages (APK, XAPK, APKM, APKS, and related formats) that you select from your own device storage. Installr does not host, distribute, sell, or provide any application files. You are solely responsible for the files you choose to install using the App.
§04License to Use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.
§05Your Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Only install application files you have a lawful right to install and use.
- Not use the App to install, distribute, or facilitate malware, pirated software, or content that infringes on the rights of others.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's normal operation, or with Google Play Billing's purchase-verification systems.
- Comply with all applicable laws in your use of the App.
You are solely responsible for evaluating the source, legality, and safety of any file you choose to install. Installr provides tools (including the Safety Score and permission analysis features described in Section 8) to help inform that decision — it does not make that decision for you, and does not vet, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party application files.
§06In-App Purchases
Installr Pro is available as a one-time purchase (currently $7.99 USD, or the equivalent shown in your local currency and region on Google Play) unlocking ad removal and additional features. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is no recurring charge.
From time to time, we may offer limited-time or limited-quantity promotions (including free access to Pro features) under terms specific to that promotion, which will be described in the App when the offer is presented. Promotional offers are provided at our discretion and are not guaranteed to any user, including prior users of the App.
A free trial period may be offered for Pro features. Trial terms (duration and what's included) are described in the App at the time the trial begins.
All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card information.
§07Refunds
Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies, since all purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. To request a refund, please use Google Play's standard refund process.
§08Safety Score and Analysis Features — Important Disclaimer
The App includes automated analysis features (including the Safety Score, permission risk breakdown, and component/security flag analysis) intended to help you make informed decisions about files you install. These features are automated, informational tools — not a guarantee, certification, or warranty of safety. A low-risk score does not mean a file is guaranteed safe, and a flagged file is not necessarily harmful. You should exercise your own judgment, in addition to using these tools, before installing any file.
§09Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, trademarks, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding beyond what's necessary to use the App as intended.
§10Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any file you install using the App will function correctly, be free of malware, or be safe — see Section 8.
§11Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DEVICE DAMAGE, OR LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR INSTALLATION OF ANY THIRD-PARTY FILE USING THE APP, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR, IF YOU HAVEN'T PAID US ANYTHING, SHALL BE ZERO).
§12Third-Party Files and Content
Any application file you install using Installr is third-party content, not created, hosted, or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the functionality, legality, safety, or content of any such file, regardless of what our analysis tools indicate.
§13Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
§14Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
§15Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
